Peeling is a great way to make skin smooth and improve its elasticity. Used regularly, it firms skin and makes it brighter. In order to enjoy fully the beneficial properties of peelings, it is important to perform them with appropriate frequency and using the properly selected cosmetics. Learn how to use face and body peelings with satisfactory effects.

What is the best time for body and face peelings?

The peeling may be a body or face skin care treatment itself - with it, the skin recovers better tone. However, as peelings cleanse skin and improve the absorption of cosmetics, we can use them also as the treatments which prepare skin for further skin care.

Body peeling is particularly beneficial before:

  • (it moves hair follicles so hair can be removed more easily),
  • (the peeling exfoliates the keratinized epidermis and stimulates circulation in feet),
  • self-tanner application (the peeling removes dead epidermis and the skin absorbs cosmetics better and more evenly).

Face peeling may be particularly beneficial before:

  • facial mask application (the peeling not only cleanses the skin removing dead epidermis, but also opens pores so the cosmetic is absorbed better).

When are peelings contraindicated?

Peelings should not be used after epilation as this can cause irritations. Similarly, peelings should not be used on the already irritated skin, e.g. at the rash site – this can exacerbate the inflammatory condition of the skin.

Which facial peeling should I choose?

As regards facial peelings, it is best to choose them depending on the skin type.

Peeling for normal skin

For normal skin it is recommended to use fine-grain peelings which are massaged into the skin. The peeling beads gently remove the dead epidermis, and the face gains glow and elasticity.

If you have normal skin, we recommend CLINIC CLEAN Double Exfoliating Peeling for dry/normal skin with fragmented nutshells.

Peeling for sensitive and couperose skin

In case of sensitive or couperose skin, the best choice are the peelings which do not require to be rubbed in the skin but are absorbed like a cream. These are the so-called enzymatic peelings. Instead of scrubbing the dead epidermis off, they soften it. For persons with sensitive or couperose skin we recommend CLINIC CLEAN Enzymatic Peeling which provides skin with refreshed and radiant look.

Peeling for oily and combination skin

Oily or combination skin can benefit from using coarse-grain peelings with antibacterial properties, which cleanse and exfoliate skin and contain peeling particles which provide intensive massage to the skin. If you have oily or combination skin, we recommend coarse-grain CLINIC CLEAN Triple Exfoliating Peeling for oily/combination skin. However, remember that using peelings is not recommended in case of skin lesions as it increases the risk of dissemination of the bacteria responsible for the development of acne.
